GR8 Week

We just got back from hiking, it is great to live at the Ciks since
they enjoy hiking and will drive us. It was fun, we went up to the
jewel basin, it was sweet. Got a little sunburned.

This week was awesome though so many miracles. It has been a huge
testimony builder to me and little things that make my testimony so
much stronger. Many times our faith was tested until the very end.

We were Tracting last Monday and we knocked on a few doors and the
people were crazy or rude, so we had time for one more door before our
lesson, so we knocked on this lady's door, I had talked to her about 4
months ago and she was kinda crazy so I was a little reluctant to
knock on her door again, but we did and she was super nice and then we
gave her a pamphlet and she flipped it over and noticed a picture of
the Book of Mormon she is like oh hey my son is Mormon, and he walks
into the room and was like yeah my life use to be better when I was
active and stuff, I should get back into it.
It  was sweet! Unfortunately....the street was our ward boundary and
they lived on the other side of our boundary so unfortunately we
aren't teaching him.
We went to our lesson though and she didn't answer so we went down the
street to tract and she drove by us then remembered she had an
appointment with us. If we wouldn't have talked to that lady we
wouldn't have been at the right place at the right time to see Sister
Cuthbert for her lesson, it was sweet.

The next day we had MLC and it was a great meeting, there aren't
really any cliques anymore so that is good and a ton of missionaries I
have served around are now on the council, Elder Decker being one, I
am proud of him for being a sweet missionary. Anyway it was good- we
discussed better ways to help missionaries, through planning and
exchanges and other things. It ended early so we had time to find, we
tracted in this trailer park, and everyone wasn't interested and we
had about 10 minutes left and we finally knocked on this lady's door
and she listened to us and said we could come back, she really felt
the Spirit and wanted to know more, unfortunately she called and said
she didn't know anymore, so we are going to go over there and see if
we could at least teach her once.

Exchanges with Elder McGrath (AP) (this was the morning he left, the
day before we had a sweet day finding people and teaching people)

We had a zone training and Elder Wolf and I were in charge and we did
a faith to find discussion, we had 30 minutes to go find someone we
could teach (that morning I had picked areas where the missionaries
would go and we let the other missionaries pick a number associated
with an area and we got the area I didn't want, since I had knocked
there before) so we go out and knock on a few doors, the first lady
that answered was like sure you guys could come back, that'd be great!
And the second guy we talked to said he was busy but he knew some
members and said he was going through a hard time so we could come
back. We came back and shared, some other missionaries had also found
some people. And others had great contact with people. It was a great
way to stretch my faith and see miracles.

We went Tracting other night and we went over to this trailer park and
right after we got out of the truck some guy pulled up to us and told
us we needed to get out since they were sick of religious people
knocking on their door, we prayed about it, felt like we should leave,
we went to another place and talked to a few people then this little
girl on her bike was like who are you? We told her we were
missionaries and she was like oh you can come talk to my dad ha so she
escorted us on her bike down the driveway, we had a great discussion
with them and he said my daughter had been asking a lot of questions
about religion so I think this would be great! I would also love to be
at church, unfortunately I think he had some family things come up
yesterday so he didn't make it, but we are going to try him tonight so
that should be good,

Had a weird experience trying a potential investigator, we went and
asked if we could get the members personal copy of the Book of Mormon
back and he freaked out and gave us a bible that we had given him and
he was a young how rude it was to take a bible away,me tried to give
it back and give another copy of the Book of Mormon but he said nope
not taking it, then he went inside for a bit as we talked to his wife,
then he came  back and said come in, (kinda thought of Saratov
approach for a second...) and he asked us to say a prayer, he said
thanks and said he wanted the Book of Mormon and bible and said we
could come back, he didn't quite understand we wanted the members
personal copy back not the bible. I love people.

I was on exchanges and we met this lady who was so nice. She was like
I listen to music and the spoken word every week, I love the Mormon
tabernacle choir. And she was interested in prophets and such. Then
she asked if we had gone to college and we said no and she asked what
I wanted to do, I said something with business administration, she
told a story then said oh could I be your secretary ha, but regardless
she was really nice and loves the church and wants us to come back.

We had interviews with Preisent Wadsworth this week as well, he asked
about having four missiom presidents ha, yeah that has been
interesting but I have learned a lot from all four of them.  It was
good to get to know him, he is such a great man. It is sweet because
President Mecham for his profession, went in gutted out the garbage
and built a sturdy base for the company to work up. President
Wadsworth's profession was to build from a sturdy base and make things
prosper, so it will be cool to see how much this mission grows.

Church was grand, it always is. I love the sabbath day. I love the
fast. I love my Savior Jesus Christ and am so grateful for His
redemptive and enabling powers of the Atonement, they are so real, I
am thankful to bear His name and share His gospel.
I love you and have a great week!

с любовью,
Elder David Witt
